Neoconservatives are very much real. They are the driving force behind the occupation of Iraq and the push for US imperialism worldwide.

"Neo Con" means "New Conservative"

It's a term that the Socialist wing of the Democratic party used to describe people that left the party and became Conservative. Now these same Liberals use the term to describe radical far right wing Republicans.

Most people on Yahoo Answers use the term as an insult to Conservatives that they don't like in order to sound smart.

Boogieman. "Neo-con" is just another political buzzword that uneducated, yet opinionated people use to describe people they don't like. It is commonly used by people who oppose Bush, the war in Iraq, and support for Israel. In other words, childish namecalling done by people who should know better.
