Does anyone agree with me that the most overused word in the English language is "Basically"?
Think about how often it is used and then see if omitting the word changes the meaning of the sentence. You'll be suprized once you start paying attention to it.
Example. Basically, there going to operate on my knee.
In reality that is all they are going to do, so why say Basically.
Does this make sense and do you agree?

Yeah, but also there are many other adverbs that could be gotten rid of too.How about simply, essentially, or any of the other sentence starting adverbs that are redundant in the English language. We have probably the most loquacious, verbose, garrulous, talkative language on earth...

Actually means nothing too. If someone says "Are you actually going?" why not just say "Are you going?"
