many real conservatives view him as such, but i think the destruction of the conservative movement started with Nixon, continued with Reagan, and Bush jr, is just turning the knife to make it hurt more.

No. You interpret the election results incorrectly. The Dems who ousted Republicans ran as being more conservative than the incumbents. I am a conservative. Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity every day entertain millions of conservatives.
