It's not the recital that interests you, but to be there for the support of your child is the most important thing you can do.
Just because the recitals or whatever isn't your thing, you child is, and love for your child should be more than enough to sit through a boring event. Just being there for them is the most important thing you can do for them.

Probably so the kid won't ***** about how their parent is never "there" for them. I think this is ridiculous personally. Kids shouldn't be doing this crap to impress their parents, they should be doing it because they like doing it. When I was a kid, I never asked my parents to attend any of the functions I was a part of and I don't expect to ever attend my kids. If their only aim in doing something is just to impress me, I would rather they quit and find something they actually enjoy doing.

Your child is not boring but having to sit through 30 others can be. For me personally i enjoy them. They are very cute and sweet.
