Well I am a cheerleader and I am not mean or stuck up. I guess I'm preppy but I swear that I am not stuck up. I can be mean at times, but doesn't everyone. So, why do ppl hate cheerleaders so much?

thats a good question!well i think it could be two reasons
1-they are jealous cause the cheerleaders are more involved and more social than others may be
2-its just a stereotype and people assume things just because thats how its been seen for years,, and most likely thats not gonna change.. i hate it though

I don't think it's that people hate cheerleaders.. it's the way some of them act.. and it's not just the cheerleaders that act that way.... If you're not stuck up or rude, then that's good....But some people just think they are better than everyone else.. and a lot of them happen to be cheerleaders because they have the perfect body, the popularity and the guys. ... *at least thats how it was when i was in school*... but i had a lot of cheerleading friends that werent stuck up... you just get those girls that are whether they cheer or not!

Stereotypes. Everyone falls under one - yours is the cheerleader type (which is essentially preppy/uber-prep type). It's just the view of cheerleaders culturally. Same thing for jocks, emos, goths, geeks, etc. It's just how it is. Personally I've met some *really really* ditsy and/or stupid cheerleaders and preps. I've also met some really nice ones and some that are incredibly smart. Stereotypes are just a part of life and while we all know it's wrong, we all do it to some extent.

NO NO NO! In occasion, you can find a few nice cheerleaders, but most are SOOO rude! It's because in the movies, cheerleaders are always jerks so real cheerleaders feel they have to live up to that expectation.

People constantly steorotype other people. If someone dresses in a lot of black they instantly think "Oh that person must be emo or gothic. They live in dark rooms and are just plain creepy." I have a friend that's a cheerleader and she's not stuck up. People should really get to know someone before they start judging.

Omigod,I'm a cheerleader and I get the same thing. Seriously, I think Gymnasts are more bitchy that cheerleaders. My Friend on the squad can do a roundoff tuck, and the gymnast friend hates her on the priciple of more ppl see the cheerleaders tumbling skill that the gymnasts tumbling skills! It's so retarded!
Also, everyone thinks the cheerleaders are dumb, and their not. Most of the girls on my squad are really bright. I am in all accellerated classes!
Finally, If I said, "Oh, I hate soccer," ppl would think I was a mean jerk. Hello, ppl say "oh,I hate cheerleading," all the time. Everybody needs to get over themselves and stop being jealous jerks!

I don't see all of them as mean, since I have a couple friends who are one. But most of them do fall under being mean. And not to be mean to you or anything but I hate the cheerleaders at my school, they think they own the school and can be mean to everyone in it and people will just bow down.

preppy
hot
mean
so on and so 4th
the list goes on,
but alot of us are not like that at all, its just those couple that rune it for the rest of us. sux huh. i guess thats jsut how they steryotype us. but alot of time once they get to know you they realize they were idiots.
plus with some of those cheerleader movies, i love them but that is the characters, mean and stuck up, u know people sould really stop associating movie with real life stuff.....

its like this cheerleaders= preppy annoying ppl....and no one wants to be around preppy ppl....why are preppy ppl annoying u may ask...well its like this they're always happy.. have annoying voices tht just annoy the hell out of ya.... they're always goin on and on about how pretty they are and there friends .. putting more make up on during class or staring at themselves in mirrors during class..theyre big suck ups.. they brag about how much better they are ....they make sure u know where they shop and how many of the same abercrombie shirts they have except in each different colors.....sweetie the list goes on

Not all cheerleaders are nice. When I was in school some of them were really nice, but there were some that were just plain Bitc*es. They thought they were all that, but the funny thing is that one of the ones that was really mean got kicked off the sqaud because of her grades being too low. Karma is a wonderful thing!
