I know its different for everyone, but i just want to know if theres an "average" that suggests that its a certain trimester. Or if you can answer it this way, after which month does one usually start to see more than the "one pound a week" suggestion. I know ideally doctors don't want you to gain more than that ever, but I know it rarely happens that you stay w/in that recommendation. Everyone tells me that they felt they didn't do worse "this month" but suddenly at the doctor's office they gained 8lbs instead of 4 etc etc. When do these bigger jumps occure?

I have always gained the most towards the end, which is also when the baby starts really gaining weight. I'm almost 32 wks and I just started gaining weight within the last two weeks, after losing almost 30.

Most weight gain occurs in the last month of pregnancy. That's when you gain the pound a week. The rest is up to you, how you control your diet, how well you eat, how often you eat. I know some women who have gained anywhere between 20lbs and 60lbs.

With both of my pregnancies I gained most of my weight in the 7th, 8th and 9th months.....With my 1st baby I only gained 18 lbs total and I had her at 37 weeks... With this pregnancy I've gained 22 lbs and I am 38 weeks today. You will gain the most weight at the very end of your pregnancy!

I definitely gained the most weight at the end- third trimester. It's not fun because you keep thinking- oh wow I'm carrying so nicely but then you pop.

For me it was my 3rd trimester when the baby was growing. I'm overweight to begin with so with my daughter and with this pregnancy I lost weight the 1st trimester because I ate healthy and smaller meals due to morning sickness and not wanting to have high blood pressure or gestational diabetes. Good luck to you!
