After shopping around and doing a LOT of research, we chose cor-cell because of their collection method. that said, unless you have a family history of childhood cancers, it is not something that is necessary. In the event that a BM transplant would be necessary, it would be highly unlikely your child could use his/ her own cord blood. We have already lost a child to leukemia, and so in our case it is good to have some stem cells banked, but unless you too have such a history, your money can be better spent elsewhere. Do some research outside of cord blood banks. Google Dr. Drucker- he is a pioneer in leukemia treatments and has made some statements regarding this. He treated our oldest daughter when she was sick and is world renowned for his expertise in the field.

That's the one I've heard of. I didn't do it because it's so expensive. I'm sure they have a website. My doctor has a sign in her office to ask her if we're interested, which we're not. Ask your OB for advice.
