Hmmm. If I can remember correctly, anything uncooked or raw, shellfish and fish containing mercury, and deli meat. Go to www.babycenter.com and search for "foods to avoid while pregnant". You should be able to find the information your looking for, or you can talk to your doctor.

Somebody can give you an excuse to avoid any food out there. Basically, you need to trust your gut (literally). The only thing I would really suggest avoiding are fish with high levels of mercury. (The fish with high levels of mercury are shark, swordfish, tilefish, and king mackerel- How often do you eat that kind of fish anyway? Not too difficult to avoid.) Fish is actually excellent for you while pregnant, it is a very good source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which benefit heart health. But, just like everything out there, keep it in moderation and you'll be fine.

Go to this website. This list was given to my by my nutritionist last year when I was pregnant. It tells you what and why you need to avoid:
www.awhonn.org (Association of women's health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
You only need to avoid mayo if it is homemade, and the same with Egg Nog. As long as it is pasteurized it is safe to consume.

I've heard that pregnant women are supposed to avoid mayonnaise, but I'm not sure if this is actually true!

raw foods like sushi, under cooked meats and dairy products. Also some fish that are higher in mercury content. Salmon is safe and so is shrimp. Check out www.whattoexpect.com for more suggestions.
