You need to find out ASAP if you are or not and get it right. If you are do not play volleyball, it's very unhealthy for the baby because volleyball is a rough sport. Digging up a hit or jumping and hitting the ball. You need to close your legs or put the volleyball away.

Its definitely not safe to be playing such a physical sport when you're pregnant. If you dive for the ball and land on your stomach or get hit in the stomach by the ball or by another team mate on accident it could kill your child. Do you want to risk that just to play a sport? I would hope not. I would just go ahead and quit. Its going to draw a lot of attention to you if the coach is benching you for no reason. And you shouldn't be creeped out, they're probably just trying to help you and give you someone to talk to in this difficult time, take any help you can get. I'm 17 and 6 weeks and 6 days pregnant so if you need to talk you can email me ( catiej_2008@yahoo.com) Good Luck

Sit this year out. If that ball hits you in your stomach hard enough or you fall when diving for the ball then you could dislodge the baby and cause a miscarriage. It's not worth it to risk your child's life. Especially during the first 3 months which are the most critical stages for a fetus.

I can't believe that a girl in your situation is worried about whether she can play sports or not! Isn't there something higher on your list of priorities to worry about right now?

That being said, the coach has a responsibility to the team to see to their health and safety. She's trying to be a good friend to you by letting you sit and by offering to help you. There isn't anything creepy about that. Take whatever help you can get.

Go ask your obstetrician what he/she suggests. If you fall or slip a lot on the court, then you probably shouldn't play volleyball anymore. Your coach is just trying to be helpful and doesn't want you or your baby to get hurt. After you see your doctor, you can tell your coach what your doctor said and make a decision based on that. Good luck!

I wouldn't reccomend it once you're 4 months or so. For early pregnancy I would check with a doctor.
