the uprising of bolsheviks happened on November 1917 but why it got nicknamed as October Revolution?
i will be thankful if you explain it in detail

It is called the October Revolution because the Russians followed the older Julian calendar at the time of the revolution in 1917; the Julian calendar, replaced in many European countries by the Gregorian calendar in the 16th century, had lost about 20 days over the 16 centuries of use (Julius Caesar created the Julian calendar), but the Russians continued to use it until the Soviets discontinued its use in the '20s.

The Russian calendar was out dated and when they adopted the modern calendar this changed the month
