Bush has just done what he's been told to do. Like any cretin, the true personality will escape from the practiced "sincerity" from time to time. Such things are usually kept under wraps like his comment "Only idiots go into actual combat" and other foot-in-mouth statements he's come up with when he slips his leash.

Nothing influences my vote, because sadly I know my vote means nothing. Whatever a politician does now, may or may not be what she/he does when in office. Their personality may be one that pulls practical jokes on someone, or they have a sense of humor. But I would not let that influence my vote unless the behavior was so terrible that many people would comment on it.
Sadly, a lot of what is done is covered up such as JFK's sexual acting out with Marilyn Monroe, and other later examples of politicians acting weird. Goofing around would be the least of my concerns, but I would hope they wouldn't do it to a country's leader, as Bush did with Germany's female leader.
I don't think Bush has many boundaries; didn't need them having been raised with wealth. (Example: Paris Hilton and wealth). The rest of his personality leaves a lot to be desired, such as loyalty even when it isn't warranted to his friends in Congress. These things can't be known until they are elected, and then it is too late. Hopefully, we wouldn't elect them for a 2nd term; then it is OUR fault that this goes on.
Is it appropriate...yes, if it is a part of their personality. Do we have to elect them President? No, but we Americans do a lot of dumb things politically, don't we?.

I clicked the link, but never saw a video, so I don't know what you're referring to.

But Bush never has to worry about being elected to anything again, so I don't suppose he's worried about it, whatever it was.

And besides, politicians are just people, even though many of them consider themselves a higher life form. Can't they goof around sometimes, too?

Who really cares? Isn't it human to goof off occasionally? I would worry about someone who is overly serious. Also, Bush doesn't really do anything besides figurehead the true power anyway. Cheney and the rest of the neo-con madmen.

But it is ok to hear 24/7 Obama's dance with Ellen? Or any of the other cutsie crap we are forced to watch with these candidates?? I couldn't get your clip to play but I think the president has a right to be a little silly now and then, it's sad he can't even have a light moment and be criticized by it!

I am no fan of Mr.Bush, but EVERYBODY goofs around sometime, would you really trust anyone who was completely serious all their waking hours? I sure hope not!

Here's a picture of Richard Nixon being "wacky":

And here's Nancy Reagan on "Santa's" lap...wait, that isn't Santa!

In australia "goofing around" is mandatory for all politicians. It's our own fault - we encourage them by voting for them.

nope. i'm the shape of human being who runs from their thoughts so if something undesirable were to ensue i'd truly be on the following or doing something except coping with the problem
