The state of Nevada in the USA has declared prostitution legal. They are required to submit to STD testing on a monthly basis and have to pay the government taxes. A much healthier way to go. It is going to happen any way, right?

Just to clarify some of the answers about Nevada.

Prostitution is NOT legal statewide. State law allows "rural" counties to legalize brothels within their county limits. "Urban" counties, such as Clark (Las Vegas) and Washoe (Reno) are not allowed to legalize prostitution.

Prostitution is allowed in about half of Nevada's counties.
