I would say that Tulane has a broader reach in its reputation - many people outside the midwest have never heard of Creighton, but they have heard of Tulane.

prestige, clout, and quality are very different things. For prestige, look at USNews, because that is what they use. For clout, well, no one has measured that. For quality, well, no one has any acceptable measure of that either. If you ask people they will go on prestige, which has little or nothing to do with quality.

Both are pretty good schools with good educational outcomes as students from both schools do well in getting into professional programs and grad schools. There is not much difference.

Tulane is a very fine university and you brother will get an excellent education. They have high standards and very well qualified professors in their fields. Their medical school and allied health is the finest in the region, if not the south.
