My parents had the same rules for both me and my brother. I was never treated unfairly for being a girl, and parents that do that need to reevaulate their parenting skills.

First Son Syndrome - or at least that's what I call it. So many centuries of the male half of the population being favored for their stereotypical "hunter and provider" role won't go away quickly, parents still treat their sons as if everything will be inherited by them. Lol, another reason may be that either a.) your brother stood up to them, or b.) they think that your brother is well behaved (they hide it well lol)
Also, your bro can't get pregnant, which may be why they are being overprotective of you.

Its just the way a lot of parents are. In out culture boys are considered stronger and less of a target for predators, so naturally guys can go out alone at a younger age. Same with boyfriends, they think its easier for a girl to be taken advantage of than a boy.

I see this all the time and it's wrong !! then people wonder why boys are so out of control-well it's the parents letting
them do whatever they want, If I was A parent my children
would be loved and treated the same regardless of whats
between there legs, I feel so sorry for girls sometimes, they
have feelings to !!

It's called a double standard and it's been going on for thousands of years.
My brother and I are the same age, and he took karate lessons (I wasn't allowed to), he dated at 15 (not me!), got a car at 16 (again, not me!) and a host of other not-fair opportunities.
Why do they do that? I think it is partly because the dad is usually the one doing the rule-making, and dads remember how they behaved when they were younger. They don't want their little girls going out with boys who want to do what they wanted to do.

Parents tend to be more protective over their daughters. Girls can be raped and taken advantage of. Boys can get into trouble but if they get someone pregnant then they don't have to accept it, the girl, however has to make a choice because she is carrying it. They best thing to do is tell your parents you are responsible and know what to do if you get into any trouble.

I'm 13 & i have a brother the same age. he got 2 do alot more than i did. it's soooo annoying isnt it? Any way i guess it's just cuz they feel like we need 2 be protected more than the boys do. You want to know how i fixed it? I talked to my mom. She talked to my dad & they made thing more fair between my bro & i. Trust me,it works!

well, its heritage from European values. i bet in 2100 we won't see this kind of things happening again. until then, well thats the world we live in, at least u r not living in 1800 in Europe, would be way worse so all i can say is find a way out or suffer forever(til u leave ur home). i'd choose the first one lol.

I think its more to do with being the youngest than being a girl! If you are the youngest then you have to expect to be treated like the baby of the family!!

Girls can get pregnant, simple as that. But what they don't realize is that without the guy, the girl can't get knocked up. So yes, it is unfair.
