What is the question? They were escaping Communist run Hungary following an attempted overthrow of that regime led by moderates headed by Imry Nagy. It was put down ruthlessly by Russians whilst the West looked on and did nothing - not that we Brits could say much as we had just invaded another country - Egypt - in an attempt to get rid of Colonel Nasser who had nationalised the Suez Canal.
