Stupid. I will run a ***** over!!! Not actually, but when people are neglectful like that, it makes me just want to be neglectful by running them over.

i think they are just either pre-occupied with other thoughts and absent minded or not attaching enough importance to the situation . other reasons may be
drunk
on drugs(non prescription)
stressed
showing off
distracted with children or life in general
listening to a mp3 player and so not hearing the cars
many other reasons OK so perhaps they are all stupid reasons . people are just not aware of the danger and there own mortality

No I think they are not paying attention to what they are doing. If we thot that they were suicidal then all kids would be because they are always walking running and riding out in front of you.

Both! If you care about yourself you will check traffic and not expect people to stop just because it is the law. What if they aren't paying attention. Happens to me all the time. It is a college town. I like my life to much. I make sure some one is stopping before I hit the blacktop!

Stupid may be a bit harsh. I'd prefer to call them too wrapped up in their own thoughts/priorities...tunnel vision. Awareness is a great lesson in life. Constantly aware of your surroundings.
