It is the sun shining on the moon which makes it look as if the moon is making the light.

If you were on the moon, the earth would shine for you just as the moon does. It is light from the sun.

The moon is a big reflector made out of dust and rock that easily reflects the light coming from the sun. You can't always see the sun when it is on the other side of the earth, but the moon can.

It comes from Lucas Electronics in England.

During the 60's and 70's Lucas provided all the head lights for English automobiles.

The Germans had Bosch electronics which were much superior.

The joke was that Lucas..."was the prince of Darkness"! lol

But the one thing that Lucas did right was light the Moon.

The light is paid by the month and as the next payment draws near the light begins to illuminate less and less of the Moon until the invoice is paid.

If you see just a little sliver, you know the bill is due!

The sun! The side we see is pointing towards the sun. Depending on where the moon is in relation to us, we only sometimes see part of the half of the moon lit up by the sun.
