I'm confused your teacher said that POTC is not a real movie or not a description of a real event? There were really pirates in the Caribbean (may still be), but the movie was a fictional movie. Your describing riding on it had to be untrue. Was your report supposed to be fiction or non-fiction? I think you should get this clear in your mind. A fictional story you could defend, but not a report on something "real". I suggest an apology to your teacher after you have sorted this out and an offer to redo the assignment. If your brother was yanking you around, you should tell him about the trouble he got you into..

It's very fictional, Pirates Of The Carribean was inspired by a theme park ride. But there are perhaps more elements of truth in the movie that people might think; many pirates were professional military men who served sovereign nations on a freelance basis and their ships were well run and orderly; very different to the popular image of cutthroat buccaneers.

it is based on some loose facts but most of it is made up. maybe your brother was pulling your leg? Jack Sparrow is made up as well as most all of the other characters. a few of the names are based on historical figures (Capt. Barbosa for example was a real pirate) but that's Hollywood for you. try researching next time instead of watching a movie. There's lots of great interesting info on pirates out there.
try renting or downloading 'The Real Pirates of the Carabean'
we watched this with our kids and it was great. was on the history channel

And I`m sorry to tell you the real thing.the Pirates of the Carribean was a true story .My grandfather sailer along with that captain whom you saw in the film.later when he got lots of money abd treasures he retired and fell for my grandma. He was a great pirate. He killed nearly some 1002 men on fighting. He was so brave that he could shake the needle of the compass with one hand, and was so strong that he could touch the last finger with the middle one .

First of all, sorry about the D.
Second of all, the plot revolves around people turning into skeletons when the moonlight hits them. Is that really realistic?
Third of all, never listen to your brother again.
