basalt is not an intrusive rock, it is an extrusive rock (lava). The intrusive equivalent is gabbro. GRANITE is the term most people know and use for intrusive igneous rocks in general, although a lot of the stuff called "granite" is not granite according to the rock classification system used by geologists. But we are just happy you like those rocks, because we like them too.

Hi. I might go with basalt. From the web "rock formed from magma that hardened before reaching the surface, forced into cracks or layers between existing rock and characterized by larger crystals than extrusive rock."
