It prints fine, but whenever I try to scan a picture it keeps saying that the USB cable is not connected. But it is. I don't know what to do. I tried reinstalling the printer and unplugging and replugging the USB cable.
Any suggestions?

It is for a Mac Pro.
Does that matter at all? Or should the suggestions still work?

UNINSTALL all drivers (printer and ascanner) with printer UNPLUGGED from PC
insert CD, install ALL software as if from new
ONLY connect cable when prompted to do so.

This should reset all drivers and get you going

So when you install your software the USB cable is unplugged from the computer. Are you using Windows Vista or XP. Are you installing the right driver for for the printer. Remember the XP driver will not run on Vista
