Sharks usually do not attack humans and are not interested in eating humans probably because humans are low in fat and blubber. However, they may attack human in rare situations like when they get attracted by under water noises, erratic swimming and unusual things and sights like large number of bathers or the glint of jewelries and other similar objects. The presence of blood in a certain area could also probably serve as the greatest provocation to a shark to attack.
There are few theories on sharks attacking humans:
>>Sharks attack to defend themselves when they feel threatened or when their territory is invaded.
>>Sharks attack humans due to mistaken identity when they are sensed as a familiar image swimming at the water's surface and assumes it is some kind of prey like seals or sea lions.
>> Sharks attack as purely inquisitive testing to explore its environment.
>>One controversial theory is that sharks attack humans for sexual reasons.
Sharks are most likely to attack during the daytime, greatly dangerous in sea areas with temperature between 16º - 21º C (60º -70º F).

Most attacks, and these are usually defensive, are during spawning season. The human is just in the wrong place at the wrong time. The other attacks, which are rare, is when the shark mistakes the human for something it normally eats, like seals.
Human is simply not on shark menu. Millions of years of shark evolution have excluded Homo sapiens as a food item. Fact is very few people have actually been eaten by a shark. Few people have been killed by sharks. There has been an increase in shark/human interaction. This is due to the fact that there are more people and more people going to the sea shore.
There is really no need for fear when one goes to the beach. There are only a few species of shark that have the potential to be dangerous to people. If you are down in Florida in late spring and summer, just use a little caution when beach going, and keep an eye on the kiddies.
Pink? Fish are NOT ugly. Only people are ugly.

Lets just clear up one point...sharks don't attack human beings. They don't know what a human being is.
They are reacting to threat or to a believed potential food source. As humans are not by nature aquatic mammals sharks have had very little contact with us over the period of our evolution. They have therefore not leaned that we may not be a threat or be very tasty. This has turned out very bad for sharks because we think it is justified to kill anything that is a threat to us. Sharks are becoming endangered because of our irrational fear of attack.

There is no one right reply to this question because they are wild animals.
There are however various conditions that can lead to an attack. For example if you go swimming where people are bait fishing there is a good chance that you could be bit. Or if you go into the water at various times of the day, again your chances will go up. Sharks are also drawn to high contrasting colors. There are just a large number of factors that can cause an attack.
Sharks are drawn into an area/object based off of sight, sound, smell, etc and there are just too many things to factor in. Even then if you stuck say two guys in the water with high contrast swimsuits on and had them thrash about in the water right next to people who were chum fishing several things could happen. One guy could be bit, both guys could be bit or neither could be bit.
When push comes to shove it is random but there are factors that can knock up your chance of being bit.

Theres not exact answer for this question. There are a lot of answers. Main ones are because they are in the territory of a shark so the shark feels threatened or if they mistake a human for a seal.

sure, even although sharks have great eyesight, they are in a position to improper a surfer or swimmer for an injured seal ( we splash alot whilst we swim, which makes us look wounded), or each so often sharks or purely curious and would take an " investagating chew". And, just to show you how to comprehend once you're truly scared, once you're attacked by way of a shark....... combat decrease back with all you have have been given, make speedy, sharp jabs to the eyes or gills. additionally, we are starting to be to be rid of their source of food( overfishing) and invading their territory.

Sharks attack humans in water because to them having mostly to do with their eyes and how they focus, we look alot like seals in the water. Just like babies will put anything in their mouthes, so will a shark. Its pretty unpredictable.
Good luck and I hope theres a group of dolphins around should you need them.
