i remember reading somwhere about an easy way to clean a microwave by putting a cup of something in there and cooking it for about a minute--but i dont remember what it was. does anyone know, or have other good ideas on easy ways to clean a microwave? thanks

I use a bowl filled with water and the juice from a lemon. You put the cut lemon in the water too. Boil for about 5 minutes, then wipe out the microwave. It works great and freshens the oven too. Plus there's no chemicals and it's cheap!! Try it, it does work.

Just a couple of days ago when I was browsing, I came across something about this.
The writer suggested nuking a wet sponge for a couple of minutes, then wiping out the microwave.

a cup or bowl of water let it steam up wipe clean while its still wet

yes it is lemon and water but you can also throw some cinnamon and water in there to smell up the house.
