The mainstream media has been talking about it alot lately. When do you think things will really start to get bad? Some are estimating that we can see horrible things happen as early as Winter 2008. What do you think?

I think gas can go up toward $5.00 a gallon...we are in trouble

Peak oil is not here. Peak oil is here for basically the oil that is easy to get out of the ground.
The oil recovered over the next 10-20 years will be harder to extract because it will be deeper and in harsher areas such as the ocean.
That will eventually drive the cost up.
Regular will probably come near $4.00 late next spring and bounce around but yearly it will continue to go up.
My advise -- find a fuel efficient car.
