The Nintendo WII is a much, much better party system than Xbox 360 or PS3. If not for the price being much smaller, it's because of the games they release for it. Over half of the games released on the Nintendo WII are party games (meant for more than one player). They are very simplistic, but are fun at the same time. I have two nephews, 4 and 7, that enjoy the Nintendo WII all of the time.

The Xbox 360 is a more powerful system with extra specs, such as a hard drive. It is better for games that are more in-depth, mostly dealing with graphics. The games are, more often than not, more complex than Nintendo WII games.

If you know this kid is a gamer then I'd recommend Xbox360, but if he just plays games on occasion with friends, I would recommend the Nintendo WII.

For more in-depth specs of each system I recommend wikipedia as the information for that is correct.

For a 10-yo, I lean towards the Wii.

The games are usually interactive, thus providing some form of physical exertion. Additionally, more games on the Wii platform are aimed towards 10 year olds than on the XBox 360.

For a kid? That's an easy choice.

The Nintendo Wii. It has more games that are made for family and kids. You can easily sit down and enjoy a game with your kid on the Wii.

The 360 is much mroe oriented for Teens and up. It has a few kid games, but it also has 10x's as much violent games.

well it depends on what type of games he play
suppose he plays games like sports, and arcade then he should go for a Wii as it will give him more interactivity.

Well he goes for games like Halo 3, NFS, etc. he should go for a X-Box 360 & not a PS3. since x-box has most the cool games
& much more feature like chatting, web browsing, etc.
at the same time it is just like a PC.

If you're willing to trade in bad graphics for simplicity, ease-of-use, and decent gameplay get the Wii.

If you want something along the lines of, oh I don't know... Good? You're gonna want the 360.

wii

pros: you get your on mii, play with your friends, decorate your wii-mote. (wii remote) you can also get wii play and for ten year olds that game is awsome-riffic cause you get to ride cows and knock down people on jackhammers

cons: none
