We were both clerks in the post office, in the late '60's. Went to the same college, and later lived across the street from each other. Got promoted to management at the same time, and our kids are the same age. Took a couple of vacations together.

We moved to new towns, but always stayed in touch. We now live nearly 2,000 miles apart. He's coming to see me at the end of this week! He's as good a friend as anyone could ever want.

I'm going to talk about my best girlfriend, not my husband who is my best boyfriend.

I met her when I was in the 12th grade and she was in the 11th grade. We were in Choir together and drama. We were both silly, which attracted us to each other. We were both 5'8" and wore size 10 shoes! We even were forced into the same religion. How could be not be friends? We had the same problems and could talk and have silly fun together. That was in 1964. We lost touch with each other for several years. I found her again on Classmates and we immediately picked up where we left off. We will NEVER loose each other again.

I have had a few best friends in my life, some I met in high school, a couple I met in college, and one I met in an art class...she is the teacher. The reason I have had several best freinds I think is because I went to an all girls catholic high school and we have held on to our relationships over the years, also I have lived long enough to have met some of them through out my life and and I love each of them for their unique qualities, even though time and circumstances have kept us separated at times. OH YES! My daughter is my very best friend thank you for reminding me of that.

Three of my best friends , I met as penpals, we've been writing and emailing and visiting for over 40 years come next year.

One of my best friends was my patrol leader in Brownies. I think we were six and 8 at the time.

Another one of my friends I met in hs when we both won literary awards .

Another one I met volunteering for the Red Cross where my old brownie patrol leader was branch manager and this woman came to do a co-op program, the three of us became really good friends.

One I met in high school in France, as we were dorm mates and both our fathers were military officers. We lost track of each in '60 and reunited four years ago! We now see each other a couple times a year. She lives in Alabama and I near DC

The other I went to college with and along the years we ended up working together. She is originally from Philly but lives in the DC area now.

The last I met through work. She was my supervisor from '94 -'05 and we became fast friends. She lives near me and we spend most Saturdays together.

We were both working at a deli when we lived on the NC coast. We both moved away from there, but we have stayed friends for over 20 yrs. When she got married I came back and was her matron-of-honor. Now we only live about an hour from one another.

I am 30 yrs old and my best friend is 80 yrs old. We use to walk by each other often. I finally had the guts to go up to him and talk to him.

Today & he I are good friends. Not like Anna Nichole Story.

I worked with him and thought he was a lot of fun. We became friends and the next thing I knew, we were married. That was 16 years ago and he's still my best friend.
