LOVE the name!

simple, elegant and feminine

I like it better than Whitney!

it reminds me of that spin-off of the cosby show where the daughter goes off to college... i forget the name... but there's a dwayne wayne and sinbad in it... lol. major flashback!

I think it's cute. It seems like a more modern spin on a classic name. More people would remember it because of the slight difference. They hear and think "Wait, was that name Whitley? It sounded like Whitney but there was definitely a different sound in there." It catches people's attention.

I think it's nice, but I also think anyone who names their daughter Whitley should be prepared for a lifetime of people calling her "Whitney" when they meet her. It would be nice if people could pronounce it correctly, but (speaking from a great deal of experience) I'd recommend growing a thick skin about such confusions if that's the name you give her!

It sounds lovely. But she'd have to live with people mispronouncing her name all her life, because we just don't read that well. I have a friend "Claudette" who everyone who doesn't know well calls "Colette", for example. (I like Colette better than Claudette, but she gets a bit peeved since it's personal for her.). I'm a twin and used to answering to any one syllable name that starts with "J", but have to admit it's nice when people actually remember my real name.
