There is a non existant health care in the US so we are lucky

WOW

Maybe that should read Europeans are out performing us in health care why can't we do better like them ?

Or our public transport is excelent compared to the US

But it sucks compared to Germany

So should we be compareing ourselves to someone worse off just so we feel better and are a little scared of loseing what we have

Or should we compare ourselves to someone doing better and saying how can we make that work over here ?

I think too many politicans have gotten a free ride off of the US's poor performance and should be challenged to do more and better not tell us how lucky we are not to be in a US system

and where are you, Trout? [you didn't say]

as to health care -- do you want to measure outcomes or the cost from your personal pocket? After adjustment for non-helath related causes, US leads the world in life expectancy. [official statistics include all causes of death and US leads the developed world in deaths due to auto crashes, so official life expectancy is lower in US -- but actual health caused lifetime is longer].

public transportation is (rather ovbiously) more efficient in areas with higher population density, so US will always look worse than Europe [or will until its population reaches 700 million or so].

what Europe as a whole isn't doing so well at is unemployment. current US average is 4.7%. I believe that most European countries haven't seen unemployment that low since 1944.
