Sounds just like our house. Be patient and do one thing at a time. At least this way you can fix everything exactly how you want it. Dont be scared to do things yourself because everything in construction is common sense.

It depends on your state, some have protection laws that do not permit a homeowner to sell a home without disclosing problems they know about. I would check with a local consumer protection organization in you area to see where you can get information. You also might get help for your real estate agent. Their associations sometimes have rules that agents must follow to protect buyers. Law are very time sensitive so do something quickly.

You don't say how recently. That could matter. I guess you didn't use a professional for a pre-settlement inspection. Consult a lawyer (not your settlement attorney -- he/she was working for the seller, whether you know it or not). If the laws in your state require sellers to identify any defects and they failed to do so, or if the house was not delivered as specified in the contract, you probably have legal rights to void the contract or get repairs done. If the realtor misrepresented the property, that can also be actionable. Again, get a lawyer.

Did you get a home warranty with purchase? Check into that, also call your realtor and see if there is anything legal you can do, if they hid damage prior to the sale you may have some recourse.
Other than that, go to Home Depot.

Depends...is this a brand new home (just built)...if so, you can go back onto the builder who is responsible not only for his work but for the sub-traders he hired to build it...if it is not a brand new home, then you are stuck with it....buyer beware still applies to this purchase unless you have things in writting that guarantee your purchase from problems.

Didn't you have the home inspected? Usually you have a one year warranty on the home. check with your realtor or mortgage company.
