I have done jury duty enough to respect jury members. They are the best people available.
Sometimes juries are asked to solve problems that could be better resolved through other means. Real complicated technical dilemmas can be a problem but courts have resources that can be used to help.
It is also wrong to keep a jury six months (like the George Ryan case) for something less than a capital case.
I do not hear former jury members agreeing with the article.
