I paid a....lot of money for my laptop......I dropped the phone handset on the keyboard and now some of the keys are not level with the others, I am gutted and worried that I may have caused some damage below the keys. All is working properly except key no 2 which is not as responsive as before, any idea what I,ve done and can it be rectified?

This all depends upon how adventurous you safely feel in trying to determine the damage. The keys on a keyboard will come off to reveal what is underneath. You might have only partially unnattached some of the keys. If you really don't feel comfortable messing with it, take it in to have it looked at or invite a friend over who is more knoweledgeable.

The best thing you can do is take it in to Geek Squad and they should be able to put a new skin on the keys. The problem is you broke the keys but it most likely didn't break the sensors. So I would try that

if its still pretty much working, I wouldn't worry too much, its possible some of the keys just popped slightly out, try pushing down on the keyboard with a little force, keys should pop back in. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, just take it to a repair shop, they should be able to do it right.

You've probably damaged the area under the keyboard breaking the little "responsive" chip. Best to go get a new no. 2 in a commputer shop, they should instalkl the number on your keyboard too.

Send it in to the service center, just tell then that sometime some of the keys don't respond.
Please do not inform them that you drop you Hp on the keyboard as by doing this they might void your warranty for that service event.

i think yes, it is... u can get the key off the board and adjust again like we can do with a normal pc keyboard. if u do for urself just be careful not to force much.

*for precaution u can call a pc repairer.

Take it in for an examination. If you paid a lot of money for it then it is worth it to have it looked at.
