The plant is indoors, sitting on a dish, we looked under it to pick up sum dead leaves and next thing we know, there are about 15 centipedes crawling over the bottom of it! Where did they come from and how to we get rid of them?

centipedes are mostly found on moist areas.when you water your indoor plant water drips under the pot and that serves as their breeding area.it is advisable that you spray insect killer on the pot or on where the indoor plant is..i hope i answered it right..

You could have brought the eggs in when you brought the plant indoors, or even from a nursery. Centipedes are predacious and find man made objects just as good a rocks and other natural structures they normally live under. They have poison jaws which can be painful. I would take the plant outdoors and let them go, or step on them if you must.

Then you can bring the plant back indoors.
