First of all you are not stupid. Stress is difficult to deal with. It sounds like you have everything going on in your head at the same time and it is hard to sort it out. I understand how that feels, I was very stressed out for a long time, anxiety was a constant until I felt as if I was losing my mind. Everyone is different, but I will let you know that the best thing that happened to me was when I spoke with my Dr. honestly and let her know how I was feeling. She was able to prescribe an anti anxiety pill that has made a world of difference to me. I am able to concentrate on one thing at a time, most of the time. Sleep is not always easy, but I have a relaxation CD that really helps me to relax and fall asleep. There are many on the market, I suggest that you give one a try. I also think that speaking to a Dr. is a good idea. You deserve to life a life free from constant anxiety and stress. Take a chance, I pray that you will not be disappointed. God bless you and good luck, And again, you are not stupid.

When i worked full time I used to hate it.

Then i became a fulltime mum and I stopped hating it. I figured that I enjoyed having a clean house slightly more than i hated cleaning lol.

Now i have been a full time mummy for about 2 years and I am beginning to enjoy it, especially the kitchen! I can take or leave the vacuuming but i like mopping the kitchen floor and wiping down surfaces. I think i prefer cleaning to cooking to be honest, although i do both.

That's usually true. But I need to get started. Once I'm going, I hit it hard and don't quit until everything shines and you can eat off any surface of the house. Maybe I should pace myself? Plus, I don't seem to get going too often.

You sound very zen about it!! I once read a book by a zen master who described doing the dishes "in the moment" as practice for a meditative existance. Claimed every action done with purpose and focus is its own reward. Very interesting.

Keep it up..this is good heart exercise, and you've accomplished something useful instead of wasting energy on a repetitive work out routine like "sweatin' to the oldies."

I love a clean home and I'd love for you to come over and vacuum. Just kidding.

Cleaning is something I do on a regular basis but, do I like it??? NO

I would rather cook, sew, crochet, make love, play with the kids or puppy, etc.

We live near the beach and I go there to walk.
My stress is gone in minutes.

Yes Grace, when I'm stressed or have a lot on my mind, cleaning rejuvenates me. Sometimes when my husband and I are mad at each other, our house ends up clean, because he starts helping me clean also. It's like we don't know what else to do to get our stress out, but I like the end results.

Oh please come and see me,you dear woman!
My shoulder is so gimped from whiplash, that even after buying one of those top end lightweight vacuums, the torture is still happening when I use it.
Personally I enjoy the rehab gym to destress,it's even a social time too. I know it's the physicality, a major psyche thing, kinda similar to another type of workout I can't mention on here without great care. ; )
The vacuum and I just can't seem to get along very well,we need counselling.

I won't go so far as to say I *love* cleaning. But yes, I do use it as a stress reliever. It's certainly a whole lot better than just sitting around fretting myself silly!

I love cleaning after my son and myself but when other people expect me to do it I get angry. I love to clean but when someone purposely leaves something down or spills something they expect me to clean it because im home all day. They dont seem to understand I have an infant son and school work to do >:( but it does relieve my stress to see things get in order

Grace,
I have to honestly say no. Cleaning is definitively something I don't love to do. I do it because I like living in a clean nice home.
I do wish I could see cleaning the way you do. My Mom was the cleaning general in my parents' home. My sister and I were her submissive soldiers while my two younger brothers kick back... Maybe this scenario contributed to me not enjoying cleaning.
Any suggestions to 'change my heart' towards cleaning, please shoot me an e-mail
:-)

Yes! When I clean, I get the best amount of time to clear my thoughts. Husband...kids...away! Lol, I tell my husband to go in the room and watch a game...and my kids can go outside for a little bit.

And just think...you're improving your primary environment...which is your home. The cleaning is supposed to make you feel good, especially after you finish. Because a clean house just makes you feel good! :)

Happy cleaning! (But don't work yourself too hard :)
