my doc told me around 10 to 12 months mark ... one can stop formula and move ahead ... but try it first and see if the baby digests it properly ... if not you will have to wait a little longer. because you are right each baby is different.

My daughter was only 7 and 1/2 months when she stopped taking her formula. I really didn't want her to come off the formula at this stage, but she just wouldn't take it any more, and much preferred eating the home made food I gave to her. The health visitor told me, this was too early to take her off the formula, but what could I do, I was making more bottles for her than what I was when she was a new born, always thinking that she might take the next one, but that little mouth was tightly closed and certainly wasn't going to budge. I thought why beat myself, pretty soon, the health visitor, would be telling me it was time to take her off the formula, and off the bottle. I always tried to make meals, in which I could put in some formula milk , like macaroni cheese, milky puddings such as custard and rice, or mashed potatoes. I wouldn't worry too much, I'm sure you're baby will thrive. My daughter is now 4 year old, and has always been very quick and advanced in her learning and development. God luck and enjoy your daughter.

1 year is recommended for cows milk. But two bottles of milk/formula a day doesn't sound like nearly enough. What else are you giving your baby to drink. I hope you are not giving her juice and water the rest of the time. Babies NEED milk/formula, not juice and water. They get all the fluid they need from the milk/formula. A little diluted juice now and again is ok, but on a daily basis, you should be giving her about 6 or more bottles of milk/formula a day.

You should talk with your pedi.
Most will recommend at 12 months. Simply because whole milk doesn't have the vitamins and minerals that forumla has that our babies need for growth and development during this first year of life.
Giving whole cow's milk too soon can cause iron deficiency and internal bleeding.
This is what I did with my son and what I plan on doing for my daughter.
At 10 months, I began to introduce WCM (whole cow's milk). I'd do 2 ounces WCM and 4 ounces forumla.
At 11 months, I did 4 ounces WCM and 4 ounces forumla.
At 12 months, 6 ounces WCM and 2 ounces formula.
At 13 months and beyond, all WCM.
I got this advice from a cousin of mine that at the time had already had 5 children. It worked for us and thankfully my son didn't have any adverse reactions.
Good luck with your decision!

You should give them formula until they are a year old I think, then there are more follow on milks available that to be honest are a complete waste of money. Once they hit a year, they can have plain old full fat cows milk instead, though it is ok for some of them to have it a bit earlier - ask your health visitor. It depends on what sort of solids she's on and how much, how much she weighs etc etc :)

They say no cows milk before 12 months old.
She should probably still be given 3 8 oz bottle per a day of infant formula.

Babies need formula/breast milk until 12 months of age. After that they can have regular cows milk.
