I live in Alabama where the average temp for January is 65F. So I go into WalMart to buy a fan. There are 2 aisles of heaters but not 1 fan. Why don't stores stock products according to region? If I were in Alaska I would understand but here in the South we don't get that cold. The racks are also full of down jackets that would make a polar bear sweat. Why are they soooo stupid?

I SO hear you- we have the same climate pretty much year round- S.Cal. and still the stores rotate seasonal crap! All the heavy clothes, scarves, gloves... for God's sake it's 85 degrees outside!!! And the Holiday decor has started creeping into the stores at the beginning of October- used to be at Thanksgiving... It is def. annoying...

I guess they think 65 is cold. But stores stock items by season not region. I had a similar experience last week. I live in Colorado and it's starting to get cold. I was looking for a heater but they still had fans. Go figure.

IT isnt the stores that are stupid......retail stores stock items according to the time of year--FANS are a seasonal item--that is WHY YOU didnt see one single fan in WalMart----maybe you should have bought a fan when they were in stock--so it isnt the store that is stupid------they KNOW what THEIR doing!!!
IF YOUR FAN BROKE LAST WEEK--maybe you should take it back to walmart(they have a 90 day return policy) and go to the customer service desk with them talk to them (and if your not happy with their answer ask to speak to a manager) and see if THEY can call the place they ordered the fan from and see if the company will replace it for you--If they cant get your money back if you can--

It's called ignorant retail thought process. One store gets them, so all stores get them. Seriously.
That's why I've NEVER worked in a retail situation.
