My dream is to become a family doctor once I get out of high school. I have a program in mind at the University of Ottawa. However, I don't really enjoy highschool science. Does that mean won't like science in University?

I'm not bad at it I got 82 in grade 10 science but I just don't have a passion for it as much. I am more interested in the medical part of science and the diseases and medicine not the highschool labs and stuff.

I understand exactly what you are saying. High school science turns more people off sciences than it turns on to the sciences. My personal opinion is that science teachers throw too much shallow information at students and expect rote memorization to qualify as an education. It would make infinite sense to limit the scope of the information and focus more in depth on the information provided so students actually learn something versus having to memorize a lot of baseless information.

Although there is a basic education in sciences required, the emphasis in a medical university will be medicine, which keeps a student motivated. Hopefully, you'll find your passion!

ranto is correct. if you dont like science, think of something else. college and medical school are chock full of science, you will be studying all kinds of science for about 6-8 yr before you can do the stuff you want to do.

If you don't have a passion for science, you will probably not get into a medical school.

More importantly, if you don't have a passion for science, then you should probably not become a doctor.
