I only found my way, properly, to this site, this morning, so I am not one of the dedicated pro, or anti McCanns.
The whole issue raises a dichotomy, in which two conflicting facts clash. The first is that the majority of child disappearances are found to have been carried out by the parents. The second is that the McCanns apparently had virtually no opportunity to kill, secrete and dispose of the body.
Such questions are best left to the Detectives to resolve. Without access to the FULL facts, speculation on either side is both futile and possibly libellous!
The McCanns werebeset by an obviously inept and incompetent bunch of Local Plod, who were well outside their zone of competence. This situation gave rise to far too much specious comment, inuendo and downright lies (probably on both sides). However, such contrary positioning is quite normal, when people are fighting for their reputations.
The issue of culpability, through negligence, is also best left to expert analysis (which currently seems to favour the McCanns).
In other words, leave it alone!

It is all a bit mystifying I agree. The pros and friends certainly seem to be handling things in an unusual way but it is hard to say how people react when under intense pressure and public ill feeling. I think they probably are innocent (until proven guilty) but who really knows.
