I am doing a science project on how color affects the heat of a material. Can someone give me a good resource to use that will explain: a) how color affects heat and b) how we see color, and what that has to do with the heat of something. Thanks!

The simple explanation is that the color an object appears to have is the wavelength of light it reflects. An object with a brighter appearance is reflecting more light, which means that darker objects absorb more light and therefore more heat, making them hotter.
