Someone once asked George Burns (a TV and movie star in the U.S who died at about 99 years old) when he was 93 or 94 how old a man was when he no longer was interested in sex. His answer was "you'll have to ask someone a lot older than me!"
When you get to be the age of these people the difference means nothing. If a man age 40 married a girl age 18 it would raise eyebrows, but their age difference would be immediately apparent. Not likely the case with 96 and 74.
If everyone stays out of their business and leaves them alone the marriage will work fine. It's not like they're two young kids who "rushed into things".

It's really not about the age, it's whether or not it was for love. My guess is it was only for money for the girl, and sex for the old guy. So in the end, everyone wins. I bet they'll stay married until he dies, but that probably won't be very long..
Oh woops lol, I thought the question said the woman was 20, not 20 years his junior..hmm. Well that changes things ha.

I actually taught a girl to drivew who was 18 and she married a man of 73, only lasted 5 weeks unfortunately, I think she really was looking for some sort of father figure.

My cousin has just celebrated a 102nd birthday, and I believe the last Tommy is something like 109 years, so it may last longer than a lot of younger marriages seem to these days.
Statistically, married men live longer than single ones (husband has just chipped in to say that it just seems longer)

He's 96 years. She is 74. Bluntly speaking, I'd be more worried about waking up the next day in good health and not worrying so much about if I might get divorced.

Show up and look good! Remember while everyone else is looking at the bride/partner they only have eyes for you! (Smile for the pictures) If it is something I don't know and the civil union is because the law doesn't allow anything else then a quick trip to Canada for your honeymoon may be the ticket. Congrats.

At those ages....they have a much greater chance of having a successful marriage....and it will probably last as long as the groom last....
