I really have no problem with Scientologists, just so long as they keep their beliefs to themselves, and not preaching the evils of certain things (like anti-depressants and other "medications") to the world. Have some class, people! Let's hope Jerry Seinfeld does not turn into the next Tom Cruise.

Scientology treats the celebrities differently than the average worshiper. The celebrities are treated like royalty, and some of them are even paid to pretend they follow the religion, just to make it more appealing.
Or, maybe he believes in Zeno, the alien space god that started the human race.
lol
Zeno? Zenu? Zeeno? Who knows.
Its not anymore outrageous than a 600 year old man building a huge arc and sailing around with ten thousand animals.

My guess is that it's a tax shelter. Celebrities can donates tons of cash to the church of scientology. In turn, they can get that cash back tax free.
I'd wager that's the real reason, either that or they really believe in things like Thetans and that aliens flew Boeing 747s in space.
I try not to knock people's religious beliefs. They're all pretty much silly. (Just don't mention it to them.)

ok, is everyone seeing how hypocritical it is? all of us laughs on the loony Scientologists, they're an person-friendly objective. yet really on the bare data their faith is not any more advantageous or a lot less ridiculous than everyone else's?

I really don't buy it. I think Jerry is still a practicing Jew. His wife Jessica is also Jewish
. I think Judaism is too important to him.
