I left a message yesterday about my periods regulating themselves. Apparently I was wrong. I had some spotting on Nov 2 and always have spotting for about 24 hours befoe my period really starts. Now there is nothing. I'm going to do a pregnancy test but not expecting a positive result as I do not have any symtoms. What was this spotting.

If it was brown, this is just old blood that the body is trying to get rid of. Unless it lasts for an extended amount of time, or is accompanied by a foul odor, it is quite normal and nothing to be concerned about. For any other spotting and if you are sexually active, it's possible that pregnancy has occurred and what you are experiencing is implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding occurs a bit earlier than expected, and it is scanty, spotty, pinkish and not red and heavy like a period, and does not follow the normal pattern of a period (light to heavy to light). If this is the case, your best bet is to wait at least two weeks after a missed period, and see your doctor for a blood pregnancy test as this is the most accurate way of testing. Not everyone has signs other than implantation bleeding, so it is possible. Other reasons for period abnormalities include stress, weight gain/loss, thyroid, hormonal imbalance, infection, illness, medications, polyp, cyst, amongst other reasons. If the blood test is negative, your doctor would need to do further testing to determine the exact cause.

Who knows? Take the pregnancy test and if it's negative, write it off to a weird occurrence.
