Compatibility is OS dependent and therefore it doesn't matter what processor you're running.

yes firefox will run on your system with no problems I have it running on my 64 x 2 systems one under windows xp and one running Linux ubuntu.

I prefer Linux Ubuntu system it is more secure than windows, and it comes Free....
