Check cashing question?

I'm getting a financial aid check real soon. With that being said ; how much will I have to pay a check cashing place to cash a $2000 check? Whats the rate? 10%, 8%, I'm just wondering?

And if any of you guys know, If a check ships out November 5th, how long would it take to get here

Why don't you get a free bank account and cash the check without any fee?
