The way singing works is for you to sing everywhere and anytime you get a chance until people start asking for you to sing at weddings and funerals and other events. Then you start to charge for your singing. If you are really good someone will notice and you will be better opportunities. The way acting works is for you to get lots of experience in plays, indies, and as an extra and take professional classes until you have an impressive resume and then try to get an agent.

That's tough.

Of course, you should try to get an agent and move to a larger city, New York, Hollywood, etc.

But if that is not possible at the time, you should be in as many local plays and musicals, talent shows, etc. that you can. Audition for absolutely everything (whether you want to role or not). And while you are at these auditions, mingle. Networking is a wonderful thing. Also do searches for auditions, plays, anything related to what you want to do and go.

I would also reccommend that you keep up your classes, acting and singing, and if you are not taking any, I would suggeset you start immediately.

I think that you should probably go to community college or get a job as a back-up plan.

But, honestly, this is the hard part, before you do any of this, I would get some honest, respected opinions from people in the business and see if your talents are good enough to be in that world. I'm not saying this to be mean or hurtful, but there are times when we need to face reality.

everyone who says going to la or new york is worng. You need to get experience so that you will have something to put on your resume. You need a headshot (8'' by 10" and in black and white). When you try to find an agent, you need to show them that you know it will be hard in acting and singing but you will be able to tough it out. You also need to be talented, which I'm sure you are. And take classes in acting singing, and dancing. Lots of people think singing! Oh that's easy anyone can sing just stand up straight and I'll be singing fine. If it were that easy everyone could go into acting and singing and do fine. Singing is a really complicated. If you sing incorrectly for a long period of time, your vocal chords will grow callusses from rubbing together incorrectly and your voice will become raspy.

you're able to desire to make certain a close-by venue this is the subsequent pass up from what you're doing now. I assume you reside in or close a solid sized city. despite point you're at now, start up watching at venues that are a sprint greater advantageous or greater "well-liked." If all you have have been given complete is college shows, start up watching at community Theater next.
