i found a pennisula cooter turtle on the turnpike and brought him home. I know its a water turtle so i put him in a bin filled with fresh water and a nice big rock. Is there anything else i may do for it to feel at home????

i only took him because i didn't want him to get hit by a car so i will problably put him back.

I know it's tempting to keep a found turtle as a pet, but think of it this way...there's nothing you could do that would make that bin as nice as the home he came from. Do what would make him happy and find a nice pond to let him go in.

Yes, bring it back to its real home. It is illegal to keep this, (or any other wild) turtle. They are protected species.
Wild animals belong in the wild. Keeping them confined is cruel, and causes severe stress and unnecessary suffering for the animal.
Besides, these turtles grow to be quite large, and a well balanced diet is hard to provide. (They eat aquatic plants.)
PLEASE PUT HIM BACK.

give them to a endangered animal society, they will look after it plus they probably have others of its kind so it won't get lonely, it won't get hurt and they'll know how to look after it. And maybe after its been looked after it'll be put back where it be longs, but don't put it back there you're self it could have something wrong. so go to the society they will do something!

i agree with E M K, i think you should go to the nearest water source(pond lake, river) and put him back as soon as you can.
