The water temperature in San Francisco is usually cold. It ranges from 10 C (50 F) to 14 C (57 F). And yes, there are plenty of sharks. The Great Whites hunt the many seals and sea lions that live in San Francisco Bay. While the smaller Leopards tend to eat smaller fish and shellfish.
Dophins are found pretty much everywhere in the world, but there are definite migratory patterns. The ones in North America tend to linger in British Columbia and Baja. In other words, San Francisco isn't an "exit", it's "alongside the freeway." They're often just passing through.

55 degrees. NO sharks or dolphins in the bay but occasionally a wayward whale. It is not clear water. Outside the Golden Gate are sharks, whales etc. You must never swim at the ocean beach due to rip currents. Every year people disregard the signs and drown there.

water is freakin cold year round. Currently the bay is 56.5 degrees F. And it probably dips colder. If you want warmish water, read no wet suit required to go in water, you will need to go south about 4 - 6 hours to Santa Barbara or LA. There arne't dolphins that I am aware of. But you can see whales off the coast of the marin headlands. And it is definately shark zone. Santa Cruz area especially has sightings of great whites.

The nutrition on the Cliff house is merely damaging till in step with hazard you're a tourist from Kansas. in case you do bypass there besides, be effective which you get a window seat overlooking the water or you're able to to boot be sitting at a pink Lobster in a strip mall. That mentioned, considered one of my popular eating places in S.F. additionally occurs to be on the water: the Slanted Door. placed on the ferry construction, that's between the hippest places interior the city, the eating place manages to be the two energetic and romantic. rather reported.

Its a beuatiful, fun city.
The bays are cooollddd and dangerous. Used to windsurf the SF bay. There's sharks but you'd have to work a bit to find em.
Havent seen dolphins but there's plenty of harbor seals.
Housing is the most expensive in Cali, good luck on that.

It's cold, and it's polluted (though the latter is not apparent). You don't want to eat any fish/shellfish caught in the bay. This is because of the toxic pollution left over from when the US Navy had bases at Alameda (East Bay) and Mare Island, Vallejo (North Bay). High levels of mercury, etc.
To look at, it's beautiful. Usually very greenish in color.
