EDIT: Erinyes......Since World War II, the United States has aggressively vied to expand its empire through covert CIA operations, support of ruthless dictators who support US interests, economic manipulation, and direct military intervention.

The CIA isn't a terror group, but has committed terror.
The Cia has removed countless democratically elected leaders, and replaced them pro-American dictators. A good example is the Shah of Iran which the US put in power.

You could probably make a case that the police is a terrorist organization. Or the military. Or the FBI. Along with the CIA. There's a fine line between protecting citizens and terrorism. But consider if we didn't have these organizations. Chaos would ensue.

It depends, if, as most of the right wingers say, we can do everything a terrorist organization does, but we're us, and everything we do is automatically good because we're us, then, no.
If we apply the standard that they apply to calling the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization, and look strictly at the criteria and not whether we like one or the other, then, of course, the CIA would seem to fit.

Well if the notion of a terrorist is to kill are overthrow governments then they sure have been proven to be a terrorist organization any of the students in Chile would say that. not to mention the students in Iran who saw the prime minister that tried to bring about nationalisation been overthrown with the CIA's help

They are and thats why Ron Paul would like to change they to be non intervention and just gather information. CIA has made many enemies for the states like Iran, Iraq, Russia, Al Qaeda that we know of but there has been many situations also resolved.

No, It's supposed to be an intelligence group. Why would you think that? They might handle some of the more precision assassinations...but isn't that what the left said we should have done in Iraq?
