Either way would sound great with Zuniga! James I've ALWAYS loved as a name, first or middle, since it's really just a classic; timeless, masculine, and strong. And Caleb is one of my new favorites - Cale or Cal are awesome nicknames. I think though that I'd choose James Caleb Zuniga though, because it just flows a little better to me than Caleb James Zuniga - but either way would be good.

Good luck and congrats!

PS There probably are other names out there that would fit James Zuniga, but none I'd like as much as Caleb! It's perfect like that; don't change it lol.

Obviously Caleb Zuniga sounds best, given the back-to-back Z sounds in James Zuniga (making it sound a bit like James Uniga). And since I love both names, Caleb James would have certainly gotten my vote.

However, if I understand correctly that you'd still call him James, it would really depend on how much hassle it's worth to you. Certainly, using your middle name on a daily basis isn't unusual, or even inherently problematic (my father-in-law has been doing so for years ... he only uses his given first name at work, since he was using it when employed decades ago LOL). But it can be slightly more difficult for a child, depending on how strongly you feel about it. They will still need to use their first name for medical forms and such, or your insurance will not recognize it as the same child. Likewise, some schools require elementary students to learn to spell and write their full, given first name, though they will generally honor your (or rather the child's) wishes in what familiar form to use). So he may be James in the classroom, but still Caleb on paper (records, homework, tests, etc.).

So it really just depends on what's more comfortable for you. If you're happy with James being more an at-home name, and could easily transition to Caleb for other purposes, it's fine. If that would be awkward for you, and the sound of James Zuniga is negligible, perhaps simply using James Caleb would be a more logical solution. Just depends on you. ;)

If you are planning on calling him James no matter what then name him James.... James Caleb doesn't flow anyway (with or without the last name Zuniga)... James Michael, James Anthony
