Hopefully someone can answer this question. I have until Dec 15th to show up for Book/Release at the Sheriffs Dept. However my question is do I have a criminal record now? Or after the book and release because I would think they would have to process you.

Sorry if you were caught doing what you had to for economic reasons in any case with the direction the UK is going at the moment I will say there will be many more girls - wives - mothers - aunts joining you on similar charges.
Could be UK eventually follows Turkey's style, put the women in jail - allow free access to the punters in order that the women can pay their fines!

You did not indicate what community you live in, so it is very difficult to answer your question (some world communities treat such crimes substantially different from others). You also did not say whether this is your first time being arrested for this crime nor did you say whether you were the "buyer" ("john") or the "seller" ("hooker").
So, as a whole, your question cannot be answered. Next time, give more details (keeping it "clean", of course).
P.S. It's sad that your very first question on this website deals with such a sad issue, regardless of which "side" of the "transaction" you were on. I hope you clean-up your life, sooner rather than later.

In California, you don't have a 'record' until there is a conviction. Everything up to that point is not part of any "criminal" record unless you have other convictions that may impact/overlap this arrest.

were you arrested for solicitation or for prostitution? Either way you might end up with a record, you could hire an attorney or plea with the county/city prosecutor....good luck...

yes,you will be in the sytem as a known prostitute in that area .. talk to a lawyer .... the lawyer may be able to know what legal loopholes there are against this insanity
