WW1 is actually pretty interesting because the Germans managed to defeat the Russians to the point that the Bolsheviks were capable of taking power and removing themselves from the war. Also, the Germans were successful in holding approximately 22% of France at the end of the war. So how did they lose? Simply because they could go on no longer. Germany had completely depeleted all supplies they had, including soldiers. With the fresh American doughboys in the fight, the German's simply did not have the resources to continue. Particularly with the type of warfare that was common of the day. The infamous trench warfare prevented any serious gains or loses of lands, resulting in a standstill.

This is simply put due to limitations here. Germany, France and England had been at war for almost three years by the time the U.S. entered. Germany by that time had already used up a great amount of man power, and military resources on the stalemate type of war in France - which was the trench warfare. No one intended the trench war to evolve, it just turned out that way. And this made for a very slow and taxing war (on resources) with little results. So, here comes the U.S. on the scene with seemingly unlimited manpower and manufacturing capability and a steady supply of ships to get everything over to Europe. Germany knew, after several months, they couldn't compete with the U.S. military and its ability to bolster the Allies. And, Germany surrendered. At least for 21 years anyway.

The British blockade blocked their supplies and America went against them.
There was a blockade in WWI. Britain occupied the North sea and Medditerranean to block supplies. That's why there were German U-boats in WWI, so Germany could get vengeance.

I don`t know,i was not there, but hopefully because right over come wrong.
But that was then and this is now and we should not treat the german people with the back lash of what happened,as most of them want to forget about it or was not even born then.
They are german because they was born in the country,as we are what we are for where we live, and should not be hated for stuff that the goverments decide to do.
