Son was killed in August. Memeber of church for 1 year. I've been member for 8. Requested services to be held @ church was told couldn't. Have had no communication with Pastor despite several attempts for just 5 mins. just to understand why we were just thrown away. Another church and Pastor allowed me in to have funeral services. I know doctors and hospitals have the American Medical Boards? Who or what do churches go through to answer to their bad choices and actions?

I do not think there is a standard regulatory board for all churches. It depends on what church you belong to and what denomination it is.

If your catholic - there is a church structure in place that starts at the diocese and ends up in Rome. I'm catholic so it's the only one I know.

The only thing I can recommend you do - is change churches. Apparently your church refused to be there for you when you needed them most, maybe you should take this opportunity to see if there is another church that would welcome you. Perhaps the church that honored your son, even though they did not know him or you, would value you more as a member.

I am very sorry for your loss and for the fact that your church was not there for you at the time you needed them. I hope that you can find another spiritual home that will value you and be there for you in good times and in bad.

Supposedly, they answer to God and the parishoners. But - as you can see hypocritcal behavior goes unpunished and good people are kicked to the curb because of dogma, bad manners, or just plain BS.
My suggestion - find another church, but not before walking up to the front of the one that you are a member of now and telling them shove it up their holy backsides.

My condolences on your loss - no one should have to go through that at all, and definitely should not be treated callously by their church.

I'm really sorry to hear about your son and what your church did to you. Remember they are made up of people and not GOD so they make stupid mistakes. I'd write a letter to the pastor asking for an explanation...you may/may not get one but I'd ask for one in writing. You may want to reconsider going to that church and find one that is nicer to its members.

What can you do? "Wipe the dust of that town off of your feet" and find a church that loves God more than itself.

All fundamentalism in religion leads to hatred, murder, exclusion, and violence. Stay away from them. Write a letter to the editor of the local paper telling what they have done and what they believe and find a new church.

I am sorry there are mean, cruel people who even claim to know and love God. They have hurt me too---more than I care to write about here. It was that way when Jesus walked into Jerusalem a week before they killed Him too.
